How do you add videos to your website?

Adding a video to your website is a great way to increase conversions and traffic to your site. When you add a video to a website, what your doing a process called embedding. Embedding allows users of your site to watch your videos without leaving your webpage.

Here is an example of an embedded video:

To embed videos into your website, you first need to upload them to a video hosting platform. YouTube is a free option for hosting videos online, however for embedding videos we recommend Vimeo. Vimeo allows you to use your brand colours and even add your logo in their custom player. Learn more about the difference between YouTube and Vimeo.

Once you have created an account with Vimeo and uploaded your video, you'll have the option to embed the video in your website. There are two ways to do this. One way if your website supports it is to simply use the url of your video. The second way if the first way doesn't work is to use the embed code. To find the embed code, you need to click on the share button below your video on Vimeo and copy the embed code at the bottom.

Once you have copied the embed code, paste it on your website where you want to video to be such as on your landing page, services page, or in a blog post.
