What is Pre-Production?

Pre-Production is the first stage of Video Production. It is effectively the planning stage of Video Production and is itself broken down into two sub-stages: Creative and Logistics.

The Creative stage of Pre-Production involves brainstorming the video you want to produce and the outcomes of the video. At Story Ninety-Four we've developed the BROAD Model to help our clients during the Pre-Production process.

During the Creative sub-stage of Pre-Production it's important to create the brief, identify restrictions, crystalise objectives, highlight your audience and finalise your strategy for distributing the video online.

The next sub-stage is Logistics, this is when you work out the logistics of production such as dates, locations, and call sheets.

Once you've finished Pre-Production, the next step is Production.
